Saudi authorities have arrested more than 500 people in recent months for drug-related crimes, the Interior Ministry announced Monday (June 20th).
Police confiscated more than $420 million worth of amphetamines, heroin, qat and other drugs. Over the past three months, 503 people have been arrested, half of whom are Saudi, with the other half including citizens from 24 countries.
"There were at least five cases in which women and children were involved," Interior Ministry spokesman Mansour al-Turki said at a press conference.
