A Bahraini security court sentenced nine men accused of kidnapping a police officer on Thursday (May 19th), the state-run Bahrain News Agency reported.
Religious leader Mohammed al-Saffaf, a government opponent, was among the convicted, all of whom received a 20-year sentence. The official agency did not provide additional details of the crime.
The court was set up after the imposition of emergency law in March.
