Al-Qaeda allegedly appoints interim leader

Al-Qaeda appointed Egyptian national Saif al-Adel as its temporary leader following the death of Osama Bin Laden, CNN reported Tuesday (May 17th).

Al-Adel, also known as Mohammed Ibrahim Makkawi, is a senior al-Qaeda commander who formerly served in Egypt's special forces.

Al-Qaeda deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahiri is also reportedly being considered as the successor to Bin Laden.
