King Abdullah II of Jordan wrote a letter to Prime Minister Marouf al-Bakhit directing him to speed up the pace of reform. The letter was published in Jordanian dailies on Wednesday (March 23rd).
The king told al-Bakhit that the implementation of reform should be "decisive and quick" and that he "will not accept any excuse" for a lack of progress.
He ordered the Anti-Corruption Commission to issue a monthly report outlining its achievements so that the public would be familiar with progress in this campaign. The king also urged the government to uproot corruption and "bring the corrupt to justice".
