Abu Dhabi developer plans hotels in Jordan, Iraq

Abu Dhabi developer Al-Maabar is planning to build a luxury hotel in Amman and is getting close to signing an agreement on a billion-dollar multi-use complex in Baghdad, the company said in a statement Sunday (January 9th).

A $300 million St. Regis hotel is expected to be operating in Amman in 2014 and will include 270 rooms, 25 retail outlets and 80 luxury apartments. Al-Maabar is a partnership of six Abu Dhabi property developers that collaborates on projects abroad.

The company is planning a major project in the Aqaba resort area in Jordan called Marsa Zayed that will include over 300 homes and a mosque.
