Iraqi security forces arrested a woman in Diyala province Thursday (December 9th) who was preparing a suicide mission in front of a mosque, Aswat al-Iraq reported.

Officials "arrested a drugged woman near Abdulkarim al-Madani mosque in central Baquba," said Muthanna al-Tamemi, the head of the provincial council’s security committee.

Diyala is 57 km northeast of Baghdad.

"The woman confessed that she belongs to al-Qaeda and she was planning to blow herself up near a Shia gathering," al-Tamemi said.
