Jordan's king approves new cabinet

Jordan's King Abdullah issued a royal decree approving the formation of a new cabinet on Wednesday (November 24th), headed by incumbent Prime Minister Samir Rifai.

Of the 31-member cabinet, 11 are incoming ministers and 20 are remaining in their posts.

The king has instructed the premier to focus on reforms and encouraging investment to deal with a record $2.1 billion deficit and a $12 billion foreign debt.
