Dubai port operator DP World is set to double its container operations in the Red Sea's Sokhna Port, Emirates Business reported Thursday (October 14th).
DP World signed an agreement with the Red Sea Ports Authority to double the number of containers it handles and extend its presence at the port to 35 years.
"The DP World Sokhna Basin terminal has been performing extremely well thanks to the high level of co-operation we have received from the authorities," said Osama al-Sharif, the chairman of DP World in Egypt.
Sokhna Port is one of Egypt's busiest, located in the Northwest Suez Economic Zone.
