Qatar is willing to increase its investments in Yemen to include the tourism, oil, and gas sectors, the official Saba agency reported Monday (October 11th).
In a letter to President Ali Abdullah Saleh, Qatari Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, said the country is willing to form a joint Yemeni-Qatari company to explore for oil and gas and develop oil fields in Yemen, as well as to invest in tourism development of Socotra Island.
President Saleh welcomed Qatari investments in Yemen, and praised its role in protecting Yemen's unity and security.
