Kuwait's Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour has banned child labour and implemented measures punishing anyone who forces a child under the age of 15 to work, The Kuwait Times reported Wednesday (September 8th).
Minors between 15 and 18 will be permitted to work certain jobs with official permission from the ministry, Minister Mohammed al-Afasi said. Young people will not be permitted to engage in hard physical labour, the minister added, with forced labour of children now considered illegal.
