Egypt is hoping to attract international corporations to set up outsourcing operations in the country, wire services reported Tuesday (July 13th).
Arabic-language technical support and call centres are already a $1 billion industry for Egypt, but officials estimate it could reach $10 billion in the next decade if the country can obtain funding to improve students' technological skills.
"The demand is worldwide and growing," said Amin Khaireldin, an adviser to the Egyptian government on technology issues, "We can take a share."
