Egypt's president-elect Mohamed Morsi began the selection process for his new government on Monday (June 25th), one day after he was declared winner of the first presidential election since the fall of former President Hosni Mubarak's regime.

Morsi, who resigned from the Muslim Brotherhood to take the country's top job, started moving into the presidential palace and began discussions about potential cabinet appointments, according to Nermine Mohammed Hassan, a campaign spokesperson.

"He has already started with a list of names he is considering," said Hassan. "He says he will announce the cabinet soon."

The military-appointed cabinet offered its resignation on Monday, state media reported, adding that it would assume caretaker responsibilities until Morsi forms a new cabinet.

Morsi defeated former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq, garnering 52% of the vote while Shafiq received 48%.

Farouq Sultan, the leader of the electoral commission and president of the Supreme Constitutional Court, said Morsi obtained 13,230,131 votes while Shafiq collected 12,347,380 votes.

Turnout for the June 16-17th run-off election was reported at 51.8%.

Announcement delayed by appeals

The electoral commission's announcement had been delayed because of some 400 appeals filed by both candidates, with officials accepting only a few of the petitions.

During the first round of elections on May 23rd-24th, Morsi won 24% of the vote while Shafik garnered 23%.

Morsi said in a statement after the results were announced that the revolution will continue until all of its goals were achieved.

He also said that Egypt will honour its international treaties, conventions and all previously signed agreements.

"We will establish balanced relationships with all the world powers based on mutual interests and respect," he said. "Egypt is capable of defending itself and warding off any aggression against its territory. At this historical moment, I call on the great Egyptian nation to strengthen national unity and the ties that bind us together and achieve comprehensive national unity."

Shafiq joined the head of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, in congratulating Morsi on his victory.

Calls for unity

Political officials and analysts said it is time for all Egyptians to move to the next stage in the political process.

"All political forces need to respect the will of the people that was expressed at the ballot box regardless of our affiliations and leanings," said Mohammed Anwar al-Sadat, a former MP and the current president of the Reform and Development Party. "This is based on the premise that the elections were based on democratic and fair principles."

Al-Sadat, the nephew of former President Anwar al-Sadat, said the next challenge is to draft a new constitution that balances the state's powers and embraces a democratic rule of law, while also addressing the January 25 revolution's goals to reduce corruption and poverty, in addition to restoring Egypt's role in regional and international diplomacy.

The new president is expected to be sworn-in before the Supreme Constitutional Court, as per a June 17th amendment to the Constitutional Declaration issued by the SCAF. Although no date has been set yet for the ceremony, observers say it will likely happen after he picks his new cabinet.

Initially, Morsi's campaign announced his desire to be sworn-in before parliament but later agreed to hold the ceremony at the court, according to Ahram Online.

The Constitutional Court issued a ruling on June 14th annulling parliament after it concluded that the legislative elections held in November 2011 were unconstitutional.

Constitutional law professor Dr. Atef al-Bana said the amendment restricted the new president's powers in comparison to the level of authority granted to the president in the 1971 constitution.

He told Al-Shorfa, "The current Constitutional Declaration is short-lived and will expire when a new constitution is drafted, which could take up to two months."

Abdul Ghaffar Shukur, a political analyst, said he hopes Morsi will keep his promise and surround himself with competent individuals from all political affiliations and not just those from the Freedom and Justice Party.

The new president should restore order on the streets and ensure stability in the political and economic spheres, Shukur said, adding that Morsi has a historic opportunity to build a modern state founded upon the national interests of all segments of society.

The party loyalist

Morsi is the nation's first civilian president without any connection to the military and the fifth president since the country transitioned from a monarchy to a republic in 1952.

Morsi, 60, was born in Adwa in the Eastern Province. His father was a peasant, his mother a housewife and he grew up with five siblings. He is married with five children and three grandchildren.

In 1979, Morsi joined the Muslim Brotherhood and worked in the group's political department. He was first elected to the People's Assembly in 2000, and was re-elected 2005, becoming the official spokesperson for the Brotherhood's parliamentary bloc.

Morsi was detained and imprisoned several times during the Mubarak era, most recently during the January 2011 demonstrations.

Following the revolution, Morsi was appointed president of the Freedom and Justice Party and served as back-up candidate to Khairat al-Shatir, the Muslim Brotherhood's leader, in the event that al-Shatir's candidacy was disqualified. When al-Shatir was prohibited from campaigning, Morsi became the de-facto candidate.

Protests continue as market reacts favourably

Meanwhile, members of the Muslim Brotherhood and its supporters are continuing their sit-in at Tahrir Square. The demonstrators are calling for a complete transfer of authority from the military to Morsi and restoration of the dissolved People's Assembly. They also demand that the assembly charged with writing a new constitution be kept intact.

The Cairo bourse closed with a sharp increase of 7.5% on Monday. The main EGX-30 index surged to 7.59% to 4,482.48 points -- the highest level in more than a year, according to the official Cairo stock exchange website.

The market has been battered as the uprising that overthrew Mubarak on February 11th, 2011, has been followed by a sometimes violent transition.

The political climate in Egypt has completely changed. The Egyptian people, who have suffered from the pressures of the injustice and the oppression of the dictator who was ruling them, have now become the ones who decided and chose who will be their President. Also, they are the ones who judge him on every step he makes and not only that, but the Egyptian people also have been able to compel anyone, whoever he is, on the rotation of power, so that no one could remain more than two Presidential terms that is only four years. The election happens again after four years so the great Egyptian people have radically and completely changed the political climate in the Arab Republic of Egypt in the real sense of the word.

After Mubarak stepped down, Egypt has suffered from a period when thoughts increased and differed, and unity was replaced by dispersion. There are some people who want to increase this situation through many words and situations. Many political thoughts and doctrines, even if they are Islamic like Salafi and the Muslim Brotherhood, including the right Muslim and the one who pretends so and the leftist socialist thought by Hamdeen Sabahi appeared. The liberal thoughts appeared by El-Baradei and another wants to continue the former regime like Ahmed Shafeeq. It was natural that dispersion spread for some time between the Egyptians as the chaos took place after any revolution in any country. However, everyone knows that it is a temporary situation and after a short time, the time of elections has been decided at last for the first time in Egypt. The elections began and the first stage ended as it should. The outcome made Mohammed Morsy the candidate of the Muslim Brotherhood and the General Shafeeq the candidate of the former regime who remained in the competition. The second stage ended with the success of Mohammed Morsy to be the President of the Arab republic of Egypt, thank God. Some of us agreed and some disagreed with the politics of the Muslim Brotherhood in ruling matters but it still only differs in politics. However, what is between us the Egyptians and Ahmed Shafeeq is bloodshed and victims. Congratulations for Egypt for the success of the presidential elections that proved the success of our free honorable revolution.

Our revolution came after a long yearning to rescue all the Egyptians from the injustice of the corruptors who forgot that God stands beside the oppressed people. Thank God, the revolution succeeded in achieving the fist and superior goals which are dropping the head of corruption of Mohammed Hosni Mubarak. The day of the step down of Mubarak from leading the Arab Republic of Egypt was as if it was the wedding of the country. There was a celebration in the streets and squares that included thousands and millions of Egyptians as it was an old dream of all the Egyptian hearts. Everything that the Egyptians needed was to be treated like humans and not slaves. We are not slaves for anyone but God and no God but Allah. The military council came to power after that but he was not the supporter for it as it should be. It was another face for Mubarak's regime with the same perception of inferiority to the Egyptians as if they found themselves some better creatures than humans or we are some lower creatures and they are only psychiatric patients.

There is a long wait until the hearts have been slightly relieved by the stepping down of President Hosni Mubarak from ruling our beloved Egypt. Then, the hearts felt that the blood of our martyrs was not shed for nothing. The expected step down was the first fruit of our honorable free revolution and after a short time from expected conflicts and collisions from all sides after the day of the step down. A day was chosen to set up fair and free elections without fraud and forgery. The elections were done and a lot of the Egyptians vote. However, there had been some mistakes from those who made it and the parties. The matter was not considered as a great loss as it was the first time to set up real elections in Egypt dependent on the will of the people. The fair elections may be there and there are some abuses in the methods of campaigning but still the matter is not influential on the outcome of the elections. Due to the total of votes throughout the world, the Brotherhood took significant space of influence and decision in the political scene in our beloved Egypt and the parliament has already begun working for months and was having decisions raising the hat for them, but none of them were implemented because of the obstacles and restrictions set by the military council that were never right and were not in the side of people, and that were against the expected from the defender of the Egyptian lands.

No doubt that the Arab Republic of Egypt has passed by very hard conditions in the last decade for all the categories of the society whether they are citizens or governments alike. The time when the Egyptians decided to break the silence barriers and fear, and accepting oppression is the day when they write with their hands the new history that all the Arab nations lived. Every wonderful thing that comes after absence carries great happiness. Our free revolution is achieved by the great Egyptian people after many years. No one dares to take the first step until the injustice increased in the hearts of the Egyptians and they explode like anger timed bombs, and its time has come at the end. The Egyptians presented a superstitious model for the whole world in pure courage like one man led by one scream that shook the oppressors in the whole world. That was the beginning of the end.

The Egyptians have succeeded to manage the elections with all the integrity and they were able to choose who will rule them and who will work on managing their countries’ affairs. The Egyptian citizen proves to the whole world that the Egyptian person can work on achieving his own future, despite the many challenges that he has faced and which he will face. There are many problems that confronted the Egyptian as there are many problems that he will confront and a lot of the problems that will confront the Egyptians must prove that they can withstand them in order to win their fight and prove that they are confronting with the enemies of the revolution who want to abort it.

The difference between the winner and the loser, as it has been stated in the Declaration of the Supreme Electoral Commission authorized to disclose the results of the Egyptian Presidential elections, was not significant. That was in a clear indication of the depth of the division that penetrates the Egyptian Street. Although the number of the voters did not exceed half of the registered voters where it seems that more than the half of the voters have chosen the candidate of the brother Mohamed Morsi whereas a more slightly lower rate has preferred to vote for Ahmed Shafik. It does not mean that everyone who elected Morsi were convinced of him as a candidate or of his electoral agenda, but for fear of the return of the old regime, which is represented by Shafik. Also, the votes which the latter won does not mean that they were out of the conviction obtained by the Egyptians, but only for the fear of many of the rule of the brothers’ candidates. So far, the issue is not for the principle but the fear is the obsession of the Egyptians because they are witnessing a new and very critical transitional stage. They should be aware of the importance of the stage in which they are in and look to the future with optimism accompanied with caution because they are in front of the sight of many predators who hate them, their young experience and their revolution since its flag has not subsided so far in the Tahrir square, which became the symbol of change, revolution and freedom for the Egyptians.

No matter what happens and regardless of the wariness regarding the rise of brotherhood for the Presidency, we must recognize the fairness of the recent elections and that Morsy became the President of Egypt ascending the chair, which was used before him by Abdennasser, Sadat and Mubarak, with differences in the rationale and the dimensions. For the democratic experiment to succeed in Egypt, they should stop manufacturing the Pharaoh, as well as limiting the role of the army and preventing its full seizure of control over the power. If this was to ensure the civilian authority, it must come gradually and extremely cautiously. Today, after this important station in the Egyptian democracy and the election of the first President chosen by the people with their own will, the many challenges awaiting the Egyptian path and the new government led by Mahmud Morsy will remain where the democratic process will not be complete. However, it will become continuous with the basic centers of power which began to be formed in the Egyptian scene. On the one hand, there is the Muslim Brotherhood as a movement capable of packing and organizing, as well as the provision of the services and obtaining the votes. On the other hand, there is the Supreme Council of the armed forces and both parties have demonstrated their ability to attract followers within the Egyptian society and proven a force to be reckoned with.

These elections expressed the awareness and progress of the Egyptian people. They also prove that the worst individuals of the peoples are the rulers. While sitting in his house watching on the TV, the Egyptian citizen monitored the elections since entry to the electoral committee until announcement of the results. Hence, these elections are fair and the citizens voted freely.

Many contentions erupted among the different social categories, the various parties and the Egyptian people themselves. The contentions lasted till the first presidential election ever in Egypt. Indeed, this is the first time where a group of non-military Egyptian citizens run the elections. Besides, the voters are entitled to choose their preferred candidate for the first time, too. No matter how different views could be the new president will definitely be chosen by the Egyptian people and none else. In fact, this is what has actually happened. Some candidates lost the contest and other won after a long struggle for the presidential election. This first stage of the election led to the qualification of the two candidates to Dr. Mohamed Morsi of the Freedom and Justice. Morsi is the candidate of the Muslim Brotherhood. The second candidate is Ahmed Shafiq the candidate of the remnants of the former regime. The people of Egypt were quite sure that the election of Shafiq would mean the return of the former regime to Government. However he had a significant proportion of the votes. We should stress the fact that the results could have been terribly bad if Shafiq won the elections. In fact, this time he would have been chosen by the Egyptian people and not imposed on them. Thanks God, he lost the second stage of the elections, which resulted in the victory of Dr. Mohamed Morsi and the Egyptian people as a whole. We hope that the revolution will be a success and that the Egyptian elections will prove that President Mohamed Morsi is eligible for this high office.

We wish that president Muhammad Moursi would work hard to restore the security and stability to the Egyptian streets and the hearts of the citizens so that everything restores its beauty particularly the tourism sector in Egypt, which represents a percentage of the total income of Egypt. the hopes are great regarding the ability of the Egyptian president to provide real support to the field of truism in Egypt, through creating new methods and modern untraditional patterns to attract the tourists to the land of Egypt to enjoy all what is beautiful on the Egyptian lands including the original heritage of the pharaohs and the ancient Egyptian civilization that fascinated the world. The Egyptian tourism is an old treasure that was made by our great Egyptian grandfathers as a gift to their children. However, we did not realize the real value of this great resource until we lost its positive contributions to the economy after the Egyptian revolution and the normal consequences such as insecurity. However, the president Muhammad Moursi as well as all ministers and governorate officials in addition to the Military council and citizens have to seek to revive the tourism sector in Egypt. first of all, we have to arrest all the criminals and the thugs on the Egyptian lands so that we can restore the security to the land of Egypt.

Since the old times, the name of our beloved Egypt was connected with the greatness of the civilization of the pharaohs and the creativity of the Egyptians in all fields. This Egyptian genius allowed the people of Egypt to make an Egyptian civilization that fascinated all people of the world throughout history. This represents the foundation of wonderful and integrated tourist activities. The eyes of beauty seekers used to visit our beloved Egypt from time to time to enjoy the beauty and magic of the great Egyptian heritage in all ages and times. However, following the eruption of our great revolution of freedom, the tourism sector witnessed serious deterioration and quick collapse because of the rampancy of instability and lack of security in the roads in particular after the withdrawal of the Egyptian government forced from the streets to punish the people for revolting. The criminals activated in all streets and the presence of the weapons in most of the Egyptian houses became an ordinary thing. Some use these weapons to attack others while the majority uses the weapons to defend themselves. The thugs turned into a phenomenon and they started attacking the peaceful people especially during the days of the revolution. All these factors led to the loss of security in the streets of Egypt. Hence, this caused serious deterioration in the conditions of the Egyptian tourism sector. How can we expect people to come to enjoy amidst this insecure environment. However, with the air and free election of the first Egyptian president freely from the people for the first time in Egypt. All hopes are pinned on Dr. Muhammad Moursi, the new president of Egypt. There are many things that are not good and they are waiting for someone to save them from the loss.

Thanks to Allah, for the first time the Egyptian people feel that the blood of the Egyptian martyrs will not go in vain, because the revolution achieved real success when the Egyptian elections ended successfully on the official papers and a new president, Dr. Muhammad Moursi, was appointed as the first freely elected president. Dr. Muhammad Moursi was the candidate of the Muslim Brotherhood and his group faced some criticism as part of political disagreement, which can be solved. However, Dr. Muhammad Moursi has to work hard to win the trust of the Egyptian people and to prove to them that the Egyptian revolution has really succeeded and that the elections succeeded too.

There is a beautiful dawn looming in the horizon of our beloved Egypt and its breakout would be in the suitable time when things become, as they should be. All what happened in the Egypt since the eruption of the free Egyptian revolution, after the resignation of the former president Mubarak and during the role of the former regime were very difficult to Egypt but in different ways and methods. Even before the eruption of the revolution, the Egyptian people suffered from tough times and they were humiliated. The former regime gave itself the right to loot Egypt and its wealth and riches. These were harsh times when the revolution erupted. There was a state of fear and worry about the fate of the beautiful Egyptian youth in Tahrir Square, especially after the former regime decided to use the fire to respond to the objections of the revolutionaries. At this period, Egypt witnessed a harsh period of problems. Following the resignation of the former president, the thugs spread everywhere causing a state of instability and disagreements among the parties. There was a state of mistrust between all parties because of hypocrisy. Hence, we were unable to differentiate what is right from what is wrong and we all suffered from a period of loss until we reached the date of the Egyptian presidential elections in 2012 for the first time in Egypt. This is the first time for a group of the ordinary Egyptian citizens to run in the presidential elections in the Arab Republic of Egypt. All the Egyptian citizens had the right to vote freely to those whom they see to be suitable without any pressures or threats.

Egypt has witnessed its first fair elections and for the first time that the Egyptians succeed to have an elected President. The Egyptian citizen is very happy that he has reaped the first fruits of the revolution which he has the right to vote and that he has a heard voice. The Egyptian elections, with its stages, proved that the Egyptian people were able to take their country to the safe border. The Egyptian citizen had given lots and lots in order for his country to become stable. The Egyptians managed to stand in front of the injustice and the tyranny, and they were able to remove a whole regime to defeat the falsehood and show the right. The elections were made in a very civilized and very organized way. The Egyptians have gained confidence that they did not have before. In the previous time, the Egyptian citizen had no right to franchise. The Egyptians suffered more than thirty years of silence and lack of experience about the election life. They are unable to speak in any political issue. The previous regime had imposed himself on the Egyptians and the elections were won by fraud. Unfortunately, we have not seen any honorable competition previously and we have not seen any change in our country.

The elections have proven that the voice of the Egyptian citizen has been heard and that he has a will that he was able to impose on all systems. He was able to come up with the first elected President by the will of the people. The elections have shown that there are new hopes whose wind have emitted on us. The Egyptians have excelled themselves. They have been panned out on choosing their representative in their country to bring them out from the darkness and work on resolving many problems. The Egyptians have put their hopes in their President, whom they have elected in order to improve their social lives which they need to change for the better. He works on eliminating many obstacles facing the Egyptians since the ancient times which the previous regime did not work on resolving but worked on corrupting the life of the Egyptians and conquered their will. The revolution has to be raised to make the Egyptians’ dignity back and that they obtain all their rights. They will keep quiet for the injustice and they will not relinquish their rights once again no matter what happens. The Egyptians have woken up and will never be silent again.

The Egyptians need the happening of a significant concrete change in their lives. They need to develop all the sectors that provide them with the services. They need a lot of progress which will give them decent lives. Egypt is rich with the resources that can strengthen its economy. Also, they contain many professional handcrafting in all the areas which can work on developing the future of Egypt. The governor and the governed are equal before God but the governor has the greatest responsibility before God the Almighty because he is responsible for each person of the people whether old or young, a man or a woman, or a youngster or an elderly, in addition to every inch in the land of our homeland Egypt. He should also be responsible for every human and animal that is breathing on the land of the country. God will ask him for that and also the joy of the Muslims were too large, whether Muslims or Christian, when President Mohamed Morsy went to Tahrir to deliver a speech to all the Egyptians and to the people in the square. He said this at the square of freedom and Revolution Square, and the people in the square were congratulating themselves on this as if it was a holiday. They were very happy with the new president who was very modest and fears only God. These scenes make us congratulate all the Egyptians but we congratulate the whole Arabic nation with this victory against injustice and corruption which our beloved Egypt experienced. However, there we must conclude the congratulations and now focus on the country’s conditions as well as what should be done and what should happen to keep the country in progress and democratic. There is no doubt that Egypt has gone through very difficult circumstances including the corruption which it experienced for so long, in addition to injustice, tyranny, theft, and looting which occurred, have been detected, and gotten rid of. There is also the riddance of the former corrupt regime which ruled the state and all the overwhelming joy of the Egyptian people during the step down of the former dictator President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak as well as the joy of the country when the armed forces, the military and Advisory Council took the leadership of the country and protected it externally and internally, and maintaining the constitutionality of the country, the Constitution and their legitimacy. All of this joy flooded the Egyptian people and also when the bullying appeared, it was being eliminated gradually by the armed forces, military police and the police forces of all kinds including the centralized security and special forces. All of this gave a boost to the Egyptians to preserve the country's security and territorial integrity in addition to being proud of their country while they see it evolve and progress, and get rid of injustice and corruption.

Sunday, June 24th was an important day for the Egyptians and the world waited anxiously for, and the association of the impact and the success of the revolution with such a day. On that day, around 4 p.m. Cairo time, it was the moment of announcing the result of the winner of the runoff presidential election that was raging between Morsy and Shafiq. The Supreme Committee for the Egyptian presidential election announced the result in favor of the candidate of Justice and Freedom Party Dr. Mohammed Morsy Ayat and he became the President of the Arabic Republic of Egypt. In those moments, the voices pleaded and the Arabic and the international reactions welcomed the victory of the candidate Dr. Mohammed Morsy for the presidency of Egypt to be the first elected President of the Republic after the revolution of the twenty-fifth of January which toppled the regime of the deposed President Hosni Mubarak. The victory of Morsy over the former air force commander and the last Prime Minister in the era of Mubarak the Lieutenant General Ahmed Shafiq was of considerable interest in the various countries of the world, where this was widely considered widely a historical event of far-reaching consequences that extended the limits of Egypt but the whole world. Then, the second phase of the elections were carried out in the Republic of Egypt on 16th and 17th of June of this year and began with a small number of voters because of the high temperatures that hit the country during the elections, and then they increased during the moments of sunset until the critical moment came. The voting stopped and both candidates provided a number of appeals, and then the Commission initiated and started counting the votes. After that, some news came from the campaign candidate Mohamed Morsy who was announcing his victory of the Presidency and also such a behavior was part of the campaign of Shafiq until the Supreme Commission for Elections announced the date for the declaration of the result and the winner of the Egyptian presidency. Then, came the day of decisiveness after local, domestic, foreign, and global expectations.

The revolution of the 25th of January started and the people called for the overthrowing of the regime after the outbreak of the Military and the Consultative oppression at its maximum cycles. Mubarak was ousted from power and the Military Council, headed by Mr. Marshal Mohammed Hassan Tantawi, took the governance of the country. They ruled the country and did some political reforms such as carrying out the elections of the parliament freely by each voter and in all honesty. It also organized the Advisory Council elections. However, the Parliament was dissolved because it is unconstitutional for the individual candidates until the Egyptian presidential elections took place, which is the first free and fair presidential election. The candidates and voters went to the polls to cast their votes and then, the redo phase and the announcement of the victory of the presidential candidate elected with full transparency, freedom and democracy Dr. Mohamed Morsy, who was the first Egyptian President elected with all freedom and fairness. As for the election results, they were quite awfully messed up, where it was declared that a candidate has won. This was on the first night of sorting the boxes and the other candidate had denounced this result and declared his own victory until the Supreme Commission for Elections made the decision between the candidates by declaring the result of the election with the victory of Mr. Mohammed Morsy regarding the Presidency of the Republic. This is the meaning of the political reform. May Allah save you, O Egypt, free, fair and developed, and forward-looking towards a better democratic future.

The Egyptian elections that occurred in the first great political scene was experienced by the country after the injustice, suffering and tyranny witnessed by Egypt for more than thirty years of injustice in the ruling of the ousted President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak who had been designated as a president after the assassination of the martyr hero the President Anwar Sadat, that man who ruled Egypt. No other similar person had ever existed in Egypt or in the whole world. This gruesome murder was planned in the celebration of the October war and in the military parade, when the martyr hero Sadat was watching the Egyptian aircraft with their pilots that no similar pilots existed anywhere else in the world. When a group of dissident soldiers from the infantry directly fired at the President Sadat and he had been wounded by the oppressive shots, they could not save him even when he arrived to the hospital, and he had passed away as a martyr. The success of the Egyptian revolution, which was led by the awareness of young people, had many reasons which helped it to succeed and achieve what it wanted. The young people’s faith in the justice of their cause and the demands which they went out to achieve were among the most important reasons for the success that the revolution of the youth achieved. The fair demands of the young people, which was calling for freedom and having roles in the Egyptian community, also played a role. Another reason was that the Egyptian regime was one of the most corrupt and repressive regimes, and all the Egyptian people were harmed by it. This is one of the most important reasons that caused everyone to go out to streets and condemn the dictatorial regime in Egypt. The great awareness that the Egyptian people showed played a great role in the success of the Egyptian revolution of the young people, through the overwhelming unity, the cooperation between an agreement in the views and demands of the masses, and the gathering of the masses and their support for each other, and the spirit that everyone came out with, which proved to the whole world that revolution can topple the dictatorial regimes without resorting to force, sabotage and other methods which we used to see in the toppling of regimes.

Morsy, who was elected president by almost half of the Egyptian voters, is now and thanks to his speech and his attitude, the president and the leader of the revolution. Most of the Egyptians love him, trust him, rest assured with him and support him. Why wouldn’t they? He is the one who spoke to the rebels in their square and talked all the Egyptian people through them, and swore the oath before them. He was biased toward the defeated revolutionary legitimacy above all else, and he returned all the branches of power to their origin. He made the principle of the people as the source of all power, and he retrieved the democracy of Athena in Tahrir Square. With this square and all squares of the revolution in Egypt, he made it the heart, which will always be beating for the new democratic life in Egypt, and the shelter in times of trouble and intensity. He sent back the president to his position as a human being, and he removed from him the pharaoh-like character. He talked as a servant talks to his master, while he is bowing in front of him, as a branch full of fruits bowing, and as asceticism in presidential showing off in more than one situation, behavior and acting. He revealed his chest to show that he does not wear a bullet-proof vest, and this is proof that the new president regards even his presidential and personal salary as unimportant. All this proves that Egypt will not become an Islamic country like Iran; it proves that Egypt wants to become a democratic system like the others; this will allow the people to have equal opportunities in life.

Morsy must work on applying the Islamic law in Egypt, but not in the reactionary way or to make us like Saudi Arabia. It does not fit that our country turned into an Islamic country as in Saudi Arabia. Its rule is based on the Wahhabi doctrine which does not fit in Egypt due to the multiplicity of religions in it. The new system must take into account all the rights of the Egyptians and the Christians before the Muslims who are afraid of applying the Islamic regime and who believed it will work on fighting them and imprisoning them, while all what is said about Dr. Mohamed Morsi is a fatal error. Dr. Mohamed Morsi has never declared that he will fight the Christians, but he will work on giving every person his freedom in Egypt, and this is what is expected from him.

The victory of Mohamed Morsy in the elections is a deserved winning to a man whom most of the people have given their voices. They want someone among them and not one of the candidates from the previous regime. Dr. Mohamed Morsy, the elected President of our country, is only a cultured man who holds a higher educational degree. Therefore, anyone is proud that their President has all those specs. His success was the biggest hit for all the remnants deployed inside Egypt. There were some plans in order to make Shafiq the President but the Egyptian people worked on destroying their dreams. They know that if the elections were fraudulent once again, a new revolution will happen in Egypt. It would overthrow the Military council, which is working in order to make the old regime remain on governance so that their interests will not be at stake.

Morsy’s existence will work on changing a lot of the lives of the Egyptians. He is one of the qualified revolutionist men who had been continuously imprisoned during the days of the previous regime because he is a man belonging to the groups of the Islamic brothers. Morsy must work on achieving all the promises that he gave the Egyptian people, who gave him that confidence and led him achieve the presidency in the country. Dr.Morsy must not forget all the mothers of the martyrs and he must put to trial all those people who had caused many victims to fall during the rule of Mubarak.

There are many revolutionist men who are supporting Dr. Mohamed Morsy for their knowledge that he is a new start for a new future especially since he does not have any relation with the former regime. However, he is one of the pillars of the revolution. Dr. Morsy was present through all the days of the revolution in “Tahrir” and he was sitting with the others and listening to them. The Islamic brothers were not as they said that they were primitive people and cared only for their own interests. However, at the same time, they are men with a united word working for a better future for all the Egyptians. Everybody should know that Dr. Mohamed Morsy will resign from all the parties to which he belongs. That is to say that he will not be a subordinate to anyone so that even Dr. Badi will be for him as any other citizen have for him Kai an ordinary citizen and not as some say that the Islamic brothers will dominate the country or that they will become the new national party because no Egyptian citizen will allow the subject to be repeated again.

The Egyptians have voted for Mohamed Morsy not because they love him but only for two reasons: First, he was the only candidate who was a son of the revolution and he was not from the previous regime. That means he would not repeat the injustice in the country again especially since we have suffered for more than thirty years from it. Second, the reason was to give him the opportunity to prove to himself and to his countrymen, and in order to prove that if he would work on making reforms in the country, he will release it from the darkness that it has lived in or else he cannot do anything. Therefore, we will not give him our voices again. Dr. Mohamed Morsy has many obstacles in front of him that he will face in order to achieve the required reforms. There are several issues that will need a lot of work to be fixed. Dr. Morsy has to choose the best qualified assistants from the men of the revolution like Dr. ElBaradei , Hamdeen Sabahi, Dr. Abdel monem Abu-fotouh, and many men of the revolution. He must rely on the youth and point them in many places because they are the basis of his arrival to the governance chair. I pray to Allah to help him in order to be able to develop Egypt and to work on making a better future for the Egyptians.

The Egyptian citizens could have been able to break the barrier of fear that the former regime had put them in. The Egyptian citizen is now having a major political role. We have seen the Egyptian citizen's role in his first experience when voting about the constitutional amendments. The participants in this referendum among the Egyptians were so many due to their happiness of this opportunity which they wished to have for more than a quarter of a century. We must congratulate the great Egyptian people who were able to overcome the injustice that they experienced throughout their lives. The Egyptian citizen could have succeeded in crossing many obstacles that he encountered. We should be greeting and appreciating all the citizens who have contributed to the success of the electoral process and who have proven to everyone that they are able to take the responsibility. A tribute is to be given to the members of the judiciary who have provided all the solutions to make the democratic process succeed and every effort to take the elections in the right direction. They provided all the tools and the human efforts for the success of that process, which had been successful at a very high level.

The Egyptian elections, where nearly 25 million Egyptians voted, carried a single message which was: The change. In fact, following the revolution, the Egyptian people sought for a political change especially the head of the republic. Therefore, the Egyptian voted for the candidate Mohamed Morsy and not Ahmed Shafiq, who had a relationship with the previous regime, for he was a Prime Minister during the rule of Mubarak. However, at the same time, we cannot ignore the 12 million votes Shafiq got and if this shows anything, it shows that a significant proportion in Egypt supports Ahmed Shafiq despite his association with the regime of Hosni Mubarak.

Hours before the announcement of the result, the final result had been postponed and the people realized again that something was being hatched behind the scenes. I demand that the new president gives full attention to Egypt because Egypt is the mother of life and is the lifeblood of all the Arab countries. Egypt is the ring connecting the link between East and West, between the north and south, between the Mediterranean and Red Sea among the many links and many states and countries. Egypt's future is of interest to many people and many neighboring Arab countries, but also annoys many foreign countries and some of the Arab states because of the emergence of Egypt on the scene and constant praise of its role in all spheres of political, social and cultural affairs. Of course, Egypt's role in the Palestinian issue is well known and this is part of the things that Egypt does to all the Arab states. Egypt's future is not confined to agriculture, investment and industrial growth and foreign trade only, but also includes the industrial development of Egypt, because Egypt has a desert land suitable for factories and transferring to the industrial areas and it will attract urban sprawl and the development of areas such as slums and Menasheit Nasser Duwaiqa and similar places where life is hard and gives rise to incidents of violence and thuggery.

Mursi, despite his victory, has only a slim majority of less than nine hundred thousand voters of the electorate in the Egyptian country where the population is around 85 million people, and therefore does not have a popular mandate for the application of his election. On the contrary, the election results showed that the Egyptian people are divided into two halves, half with Morsi and half against him. Therefore Mercy will not be able to govern his party only, but he must create reconciliation and national historic unification between the Egyptians, and he must lead a national coalition comprising large parties and all political forces and the revolutionary liberalism and nationalism. The victory of Mursi is just the start which may be completed and go in the right direction or turn the tables on those who want to destabilize the country.

The first civilian president in Egyptian history was elected, and the first president of the Muslim Brotherhood in their history that spans more than eight decades, and the first time the brotherhood came up to the presidency through the ballot box and not through arms and attempted coups, as before, so perhaps this enhances democratic development that has swept the ranks of this national movement of the traditional Arab Islamic world, and enhances the stream of reason and knowledge at the expense of current underdevelopment.

The success of the electoral process, and regardless of the winner, represents a great challenge to the citizen and the Egyptian people because it means that the people had a bad status and were living in a state of poverty and destitution, making them lag behind the rest of other peoples because of the arbitrary policies of Hosni Mubarak's regime against the people of Egypt. The Egyptians proved to the world that they had overthrown the regime via a public revolution that rejected oppression and tyranny, because they wanted to live like the rest of the world under a government that responds to their demands and allowed their applications and wiped their heads instead of beating and arresting and executing them. All this made the Egyptian people not tolerate this injustice and led to the revolution of January, followed by the sit-ins in Tahrir Square, which has become a platform for the aspirations of the Egyptian people and the place of gathering viewpoints in order to put it in the hands of the government to implement them in the future.

As we congratulate the authentic people of this glorious ancient civilization on the majestic victory in the process of democracy and we congratulate Dr. Mursi on his victory in the elections and hope from Almighty Allah to provide him succor and strength to face the internal and external challenges at all levels, it should be taken into account that the victory of the Islamists in elections could give rise to reservations among domestic and foreign elements. It is possible that these parties intended to create confusion and unrest for two purposes. First, to break Dr. Mursi's will as the President belonging to the Islamists. They do not want good for Egypt and do not want Egypt to return to the ranks of the developed nations and do not want people to trust this government that emerged from democratic elections. This government represents the fruit of the popular uprising and revolution, and to be rid of this government from birth. Secondly, for the purpose of stating that the Islamic parties cannot lead the government and that it has a purely extremist approach and this is what serves the interests of the countries lurking in Egypt. But the experience of Dr. Morsi dispelled all fears after recent statements that he is trying to form a coalition government and the door is open for everyone to participate in it, because it is the Government of Egyptians and all should participate in it because one party cannot collect all the aspirations of the different categories of the Egyptian people. This was also to confirm that the new government will respect all former agreements and treaties, and will keep Egypt as a platform for all the aspirations of the Arab people.

Everybody knows that the presidential elections that took place in Egypt are the first of its kind in the Egyptian history since decades because before these elections, the authority was handed in a dictatorial manner in Egypt. It was in the hands of the armed forces that dragged Egypt into catastrophes and disasters that ended by the time of the dictator Hosni Mubarak who ruled Egypt for a very long time. Mubarak turned Egyptians into a poor and oppressed nation. He took over the resources of Egypt and employed them for his own interest, his retinue and his malicious aims. He ruled and oppressed his people with an iron fist. He turned the country into destruction and sabotage. Egyptians have been wandering all over the Arab countries looking for a livelihood. This led to a state of unemployment and corruption that rarely exist in a place. The only concern of Egyptians was providing and insuring the morsel of bread instead of progress and prosperity. For all the above mentioned reasons and other reasons, this black day had to end from the sky of Egypt, the country of civilization and history. So, the January Revolution happened at the end. After many incidents and bloody clashes between the young Egyptian revolutionists and the forces of Hosni Mubarak's regime, the stand of the Egyptian army became clear as they aligned with the people. The army left the government and this way the regime of Hosni Mubarak was dethroned. The army came into power and promised to arrange honest and democratic elections and peaceful handover of power to the elected authority by the people.

Dr. Morsi's victory in the elections does not mean that the Egyptian people are very religious people, but in this victory are a lot of indications, as the Muslim Brotherhood which represented the opposition to the former government and whose followers and supporters suffered different kinds of torture and humiliation from the Hosni Mubarak regime. Over the years, they gained the sympathy of the Egyptian street and especially the generation of educated young people who expressed their beliefs compatible with the Muslim Brotherhood. Along with the spread of moral and administrative corruption among Egyptian society, which has become an epidemic among the youth and the educated class and became a nightmare threatening the coming generations' future, and because the Muslim Brotherhood were raising the governance slogan by the holy Quran and Sunna and because of the treatment of all the above is resorting to the Quran and Sunnah, it became necessary to give the leadership of this collapsing people to a safe hand to take them to a safe harbor to restore awareness among the youth and new generation and restore Egypt to the developed countries ranks, not in economic and scientific terms only, but from moral and religious aspects also, of which the Egyptian people are in greatest need in a transitional period.

The people voted for their trusted candidates and believe in them to bring a bright future for all the Egyptians, and the days went by and all categories of the Egyptian people and the world await the election results. Thus the Egyptian Brotherhood Candidates and Islamic groups received a large proportion of the votes, In return, the former regime representative received a large proportion of the vote, and because none of the candidates gained a majority of the votes, elections were re-run between the former regime representative and the Muslim Brotherhood representative, Dr. Muhammad Mursi, where in the run-off Mursi received the majority of the votes and became the new President of Egypt. The result of the first round of presidential elections in Egypt was narrowing the competition down to two competitors: Dr. Mohamed Morsi, the candidate of the Freedom and Justice Party, and General Ahmed Shafiq, the candidate of the remnants of the former regime. Shafiq deceived many people with his elegant speaking style and low tone of voice. We are a compassionate, kind people who would believe anyone who tells us they love us. After a time of tension, stress, sayings and promises, which only God knows how truthful they were, the presidential elections finally ended in Egypt, with the victory of Dr. Mohamed Morsi, which is a great success for the revolution. After being afraid that the blood of our martyrs would have been shed in vain with the success of the remnants' candidate Ahmed Shafiq, we are finally relieved because of the success of Dr. Mohamed Morsi. The steps which have followed the success of the great revolution which has been carried out against the oppressor dictator Hosni Mubarak have been the choice of a legitimate president of the country who is able to govern the country without any kind of objection. Therefore, the ideal method to make this choice has been through fair and free elections that reflect the opinion of the people and what the majority wants. Unfortunately, however, the people have been faced by whoever usually wants to undermine their revolution and sow dissension. Yet, the people have been highly aware since the majority has faced those who pay money to buy votes. In fact, we should not deny that there is a small number of people who have sold their votes but we cannot say that they have reversed the balance in favor of any party. Yet, we are speaking here about the fairness of the elections. In this respect, the Egyptian elections have been fair with a little fraud. Therefore, they are considered as one of the most successful elections in the world, given that they took place in a country which was suffering from dictatorship and suddenly became a free democracy. Thus, the occurrence of some violations is normal. However, they are not many and this reflects culture and awareness.

The revolution started in order to banish injustice and aggression from Egyptian history and the opportunity has come to make the people see the result of their support for a candidate whom they chose for three goals which are life, freedom and social justice, none of which can be left for the other whatever happens. They are interrelated with each other. However, what the outcome from the post-election atmosphere will be is a disaster. Whether the winner President will work on improving the lives of Egyptians or will work on his survival as ruler. Any President's government wants to prove his existence in order to stay on as the President. If that is his intention, he might fail because he must work for his country and his people, work on improving it, and not for the sake of governance. We can judge the current candidate as to whether he is bad or not only after a period of time. We are waiting for the realization of his program to see the concrete side in our entire lives. Many Egyptians lack the political culture. One word is able to change his concept of any topic. The easiest resort that he can seek refuge in is the language of treason whenever his argument is proven weak. This is has really spread recently. We find that some of those who have a particular political objective want to achieve it by seeking refuge in the distortion and the distrust of the Human Rights Organizations because they represent an obstacle to them and to their interests, other than that they failed to dialogue with them and after the presidential elections.

Please do not distort the image of Dr Mohammed Morsy; he is better than all those who went before him by millions of times. He memorizes the book of God, and the Prophet said, “The best of you who learns Quran, he is the best among people and that is enough for him.” He is better than me and you because he memorizes the Quran and he is a highly educated man from the U.S. He got his PhD in aerospace engineering and we are never allowed, as we are inferior, to look down on a character like Dr Morsy. He is considered the best of us all, only God knows. In my opinion, he is the president who will benefit Egypt the most if the Egyptians and Arabs will cooperate with him. But if they try, like us, to stand against him, and create confusion and slogans which do not feed hungry mouths, most certainly they will not succeed in building Egypt.

There is no doubt that the political scene in Egypt and the successive political developments are interesting for the Egyptians, and this is natural in a society that is stepping towards the democracy that was built by the Egyptian youth and people. There are different groups in Egyptian society that participated in the Egyptian revolution and some of them may see that there are crises or problems that may hinder the democratic transition in Egypt. Each party looks at the political situation from a different angle based on the information that it has. There is an important thing that must be taken into consideration, which is that Egyptian society is new to democracy. Hence, the culture of social dialogue will develop and grow and move at a fast pace. Many people differ regarding this issue, but Egypt moves at amazing speed towards a fascinating democratic transition.

Please God, help President Mohamed Morsi to do what is best for the country and the people! I pray God to unite all of the Islamic countries under one flag! I pray him to liberate Palestine and that Muslims do not fight each other! I pray that they cooperate for what is good and pious and to stay away of what is sinful and violent. May love and amiability prevail in all the Islamic countries! Say Amen!
