One year has passed since the death of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in his hiding place in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
The current leadership of al-Qaeda in the border areas between Afghanistan and Pakistan, headed by Ayman al-Zawahiri, does not seem to be in a better position today than it was under bin Laden in the last few years of his life: a state of siege and loss of leaders.
However, this does not mean al-Qaeda was entirely defeated. The organisation is apparently still able to call on its allies, who have become its branches around the world. The most recent to answer the call was the Somali movement, Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen.
While al-Shabaab's merger with al-Qaeda was hailed as an "achievement" by the organisation's new leader, al-Zawahiri, the fact remains that the current conduct of this armed Somali movement seems to show it is travelling down the same path as other al-Qaeda affiliates and armed groups before it, whose excesses and extremist interpretation of Islamic teachings alienated people and propelled them to join opposing forces.
Killings and bombings carried out by al-Shabaab give the impression the group is intent on swimming against the current.
Instead of these operations winning popular support, they are producing just the opposite effect, as evidenced by the bombings al-Shabaab carried out April 4th in Mogadishu, which claimed the lives of at least six civilians, including sports officials who had no part in the on-going fighting between al-Shabaab and government forces backed by African Union peacekeepers.
Although the movement has in the past conducted numerous bombings that claimed scores of civilian lives, its latest attack in the heart of the capital gives pause for thought because it occurred after the group became an official al-Qaeda affiliate in February of this year. This means al-Shabaab's operations are now attributable to the organisation.
According to media reports, the attack was carried out by a female suicide bomber who blew herself up at the National Theatre in Mogadishu, killing at least six people, including the Somali Olympic Committee chairman and the president of the Somali Football Federation. Al-Shabaab was apparently targeting Prime Minister Abdiweli Mohamed Ali as he prepared to deliver a speech in the theatre -- recently re-opened for the first time in 20 years -- but he was unhurt.
In addition to the human casualties of the National Theatre bombing, it was also painfully distressing that the attack came at a time the Somali capital was showing signs that life was returning to normal after more than 20 years of strife following the fall of the Siad Barre regime in 1991.
Since al-Shabaab was forced out of Mogadishu in August 2011, Somalis' confidence had been rising noticeably, with new schools, shops and restaurants opening their doors and robust reconstruction efforts clearly visible across the devastated capital.
In addition, the first international airline route was launched in March with twice-weekly flights by Turkish Airlines.
For that, al-Shabaab's attack on the National Theatre may lead to different results than it aims to achieve, since such acts could escalate the anger of the capital's residents, who are looking to start a new life.
Even some within the Islamist movement in Somalia understand these operations do not bode well for the self-described jihadists.
Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys, who headed Somali Islamist insurgent group Hizbul Islam until the party merged with al-Shabaab in 2010, recently expressed this opinion.
"I warn our jihadist brothers in the al-Shabaab movement against shedding the blood of the Muslim Somali people and killing innocent civilians in the name of Islam," Aweys told a gathering of his followers on March 30th.
His criticism coincided with a video posted on the Internet in March by Omar Hammami, also known as Abu Mansour al-Amriki, in which he said he feared for his life from al-Shabaab, a movement he had joined a few years ago to perform "jihad". Al-Amriki spoke in the video of doctrinal disputes between him and al-Shabaab, but it was unclear whether the disputes were over the justification of murder and bloodshed.
Although al-Shabaab responded by saying it had no intention of killing al-Amriki and that it has opened an investigation into the incident, reports circulated through the media that al-Amriki was killed and possibly beheaded at the hands of a faction of al-Shabaab.
While his death has not been confirmed and reports claiming he was still alive and under house-arrest soon appeared, al-Shabaab has not yet commented on reports of his death.
The fiasco over al-Amriki's fate, and the fissures reported in the ranks of the group, prompted many Somali analysts to declare the group "on the verge of dying".
Al-Shabaab's constant justification of its killings and bombings indicate it is walking down the same path other al-Qaeda affiliates have taken in the past, which led to their destruction after public support for their activities declined.
The clearest example of this is the course of action al-Qaeda in Iraq took under the leadership of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
Al-Zarqawi's operations claimed hundreds of lives in random bombings and grisly killings that ultimately compelled a number of Iraqis, including some from the so-called armed resistance against foreign and Iraqi government forces, to distance themselves from al-Qaeda and join efforts to eradicate it.
Current reports from Yemen indicate a similar anger permeates segments of the Yemeni population. Those Yemenis reject the practices of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and its affiliate, Ansar al-Sharia, which centre on the implementation of a harsh interpretation of Sharia law, including the application of hadd punishment.
This rejection is not limited to the Yemeni people, but has begun to surface among members of Ansar al-Sharia who reject al-Qaeda's practice of indiscriminate killing, as evidenced by the recent execution of seven Ansar al-Sharia members who refused to carry out suicide bombings targeting popular resistance committees in the city of Lawder in Abyan province.
The refusal of those members to carry out suicide attacks is undoubtedly a development reflecting the internal disintegration the Yemeni organisation is undergoing and indicating some members are beginning to return to their senses and have perhaps become convinced that fighting alongside al-Qaeda is wrong.
Similar popular rejection against violence occurred in Algeria in the 1990s when killings carried out by the Armed Islamic Group (GIA) elicited broad public anger, helping the central government defeat the extremists. The group's killings in remote villages drove the populations of these villages to volunteer for self-defence groups armed by the government, depriving the GIA of the ability to roam freely in rural areas and helping security forces pursue and eliminate the organisation's members.
Armed violence in Algeria has declined considerably since the GIA was eradicated, though the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC), a splinter group which grew out of GIA, has persisted in using violence. In a sign that al-Qaeda failed to learn the lesson that violence does not pay off, the GSPC aligned itself with al-Qaeda and formally became its North Africa branch under the name of al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb in 2007.
In light of this, it is clear al-Qaeda and its affiliates need to review the feasibility of continuing killing and bombing operations that victimise innocent civilians. Al-Qaeda undoubtedly knows that with its loss of public support it has become a fish out of water ... waiting to die.
Even bin Laden, before his death, reportedly understood that his organisation had an image problem, especially when their actions were contrasted against the peaceful methods of the Arab Spring movements.
The recent actions in Somalia and Yemen, however, indicate that this fundamental lesson about the futility of violence has not yet been learned. For that, any further attempts to "rebrand" al-Qaeda by attaching it to local affiliates will likely continue to backfire.

The death of Bin Laden had a huge impact on Al-Qaeda; it lost its godfather. He was the director, the executor and the savior to them, and they used to depend on him in every small and large matter until this happened. But this is not proof of the weakness of Al-Qaeda; it lost a whole army due to what he was carrying of in thinking and he had a strong mind. His death has weakened Al-Qaeda, but it didn`t stop it, and it will take revenge for its leader as a sign of love and loyalty. Their leader represented terror to the whole world because of his mind and ideology, and he will leave a huge effect on this group, especially since he was one of the most important elements of Al-Qaeda. But his death does not represent the end of Al-Qaeda, but it represents a new circulation of life for this group. They will start to appointment new leaders, such as the chief of the military base, but they may be less experienced and have less expertise.

The killing of Osama bin Laden by the American Security Services after the approval of their Presidents who are the President of the United States to perform the operation which represent a setback and a major defeat for the Al-Qaeda. However, it does not mean in any way that the Al-Qaeda has ended or has lost its prestige that the world is suffering from. In fact, it is still considered as a dangerous organization and it may seek in the future to show its ability to move through the violence and the anarchy in the world especially in America for being the cause of his death. That is why we do not consider his death as the end of Al-Qaeda, but rather a major breakthrough in the fight against the Al-Qaeda. Also, I see that the impact of bin Laden's death exceeded the expectations of the United States because bin Laden was, until the last moments of his life, actively participating in the management of the Al-Qaeda. After his death, I saw that one of the leaders have been eliminated from the Al-Qaeda and I also think that there are people who are supporting and supplying the Al-Qaeda. They are helping them on committing their acts. For this reason, the strategy in the field of fighting against terrorism of the United Nations concentrates on stopping and blocking these organizations from the sources it needs to practice its terrorist activities.

Who has not heard of the terroristic crimes carried out by al-Qaeda in all parts of the world, whether it was kidnapping hostages, slayings, destruction or explosions. Since the explosions of September in America and every act of terrorism attributed to this organization, terrorism has become its address and slogan, and diffused rapidly in a few countries of the world such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and other countries, and destruction of these countries has become their top concern to make them desolate and to be able to move freely through them. Hardly a day goes by without the audio-visual media and newspapers telling us about an individual or group committing terrorist acts, which causes terror and panic and terrorizing innocent people and killing innocent people and destroying money and public and private property and damaging the security and integrity of public utilities that serve millions of people around the globe.

The death of Bin Laden has had a great impact on Al-Qaeda, as he was its Godfather, mastermind and savior and the organization relyed on him in every issue, until his death. Despite this loss, Al Qaeda is not yet weak; losing him was tantamount to the lost of an entire army due to his strenght and intelligence. However, while his death has utlimatly weakened Al Qaeda, the organization is still operative and it will retaliate for his death. When or where? I do not know. This is what the days will prove according to the love and loyalty of the members of al Qaeda to their dead leader. He errorized the whole world with his strength and sharp mind, and his death will severly impact the group especially that he was its the most important element. Nontheless, his death does not represent the end of Al Qaeda, rather it represents a new begining and a re-birth for the group and he will be replaced by Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, as a leader of the military wing of al Qaeda.

I believe that the influence of Bin Laden was too deep in the hearts of the members of Al-Qaeda who issued a lot of declarations that they will make everyone who helped in killing him pay the heaviest price for what their hands did. The operations of Al Qaeda have intensified after the death of Osama bin Laden, such operations have been called operations of reprisals for the killing of their Sheikh and leader, but there's a lot of news saying that what happened to Bin Laden was a treason and that he who revealed his place is a member of Al-Qaeda in retaliation for his repeated objections to their operations that had increased against the Muslims and he has strongly objected what is happening in Iraq and in many Arabic countries including terrorizing the innocent civilians who have no guilt and they are not allowed to kill their brothers in Islam and the one who does this wants to make Al Qaeda a criminal organization and thus changed many principles developed by Osama bin Laden. He made, in some messages that were found in his house, written orders that must be implemented by al Qaeda saying that the leaders of the cells spread around the world must stop targeting the Muslims and focus their operations on the military targets that will be very sensitive and be a very clear message against the unjust governments and one of his letters also informed that the revolutions that are currently happening in the Arabic States against all the rulers were developed by Al Qaeda and they are the ones who planned them.

It is clear that al-Qaeda was transformed from a mere organization to a thought embraced by hundreds of thousands of young people who may not have met Bin Laden and Zawahiri before, but they committed some acts of hostility against the interests of America and Europe in many countries of the world and then attributed them to Bin Laden and Zawahiri. They could have done so not out of love for Bin Laden and Zawahiri as much as hatred for American policy that built the metal barricades or the full support for Israel and for its acts of aggression against the Palestinians while remaining silent on the series of Israeli crimes and assassinations. The organization has lost the charismatic character it had among its supporters and has a luster for the lover of fighting; according to the ruling ideology of al-Qaeda and its symbolism when relating to the model of the rich ascetic withdrawing from the pleasures of this world, who deserted palaces and live in caves and bushes, and gained popularity among the sectors and tribes, following the Gulf and Arab countries and international countries.

The killing of Osama bin Laden will greatly influence the policies of the Islamic movements in the coming period, pointing out many organizations deployed in all parts of the world, particularly the Arab countries. The organizations which perceive Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda as their key references in their various activities will become more aggressive. He stressed that the killing of Osama bin Laden by U.S. forces will force a backlash by those groups against American interests in the various countries of the Middle East. It will also lead to the development al-Qaeda operations especially in terms of the confrontation with the United States which will escalate over the coming period. Indeed, this organization would not abandon its policy of taking any action against U.S. interests. Perhaps, they will target the U.S. territories. Such operations would confirm the might of al-Qaeda despite the striking technological superiority of the United States. Al-Qaeda seeks to confirm that is still it alive and insists on inflicting strikes on the United States. In addition, they would impose the obligation to fight the Americans on any Arab or Muslim land.

Although the assassination of Osama bin Laden is considered as a painful blow to al-Qaeda, the majority of opinions have agreed that his death will not affect the future of the Organization which is still able to carry out painful blows to the USA and its interests abroad. The opinions have also agreed on the fact that active al-Qaeda members and sympathizers are expected to respond violently to avenge the assassination of Bin Laden. Indeed, it is thought that the coming days will witness an escalation in terms of violence in a lot of countries, particularly Pakistan and Afghanistan. In fact, it has not been strange that experts have expected that Dr. Ayman Zawahiri will lead al-Qaeda as a successor to Bin Laden, especially as he is the second man in the Organization. In addition, the American Government has even considered him the most dangerous threat against its interests at home and abroad, describing him as the actual leader of the Organization while Osama bin Laden was only the façade. As a matter of fact, al-Qaeda is neither Bin Laden nor Ayman Zawahiri but it is a large organization that comprises thousands of fighters who are spread in several countries including the USA itself, in addition to the millions of al-Qaeda sympathizers. In fact, the main target of this Organization is America.

The practices and strategy of al-Qaeda will not be affected by the killing of Osama bin Laden, but will become more aggressive and more formidable than ever, indicating that, in reality, al-Qaeda was managed in the past few years by the second man in the organization Ayman al-Zawahiri and not by bin Laden after his health deteriorated. Al-Qaeda depends on the style of decentralization in decision-making and not on the Shura Council of al-Qaeda, which is responsible for approving plans and decision-making; it depends on the new leaders of locally associated sleeper cells in the framework structure of the strategic organization, and this confirms that al-Qaeda represents a major threat to the countries targeted by its operations because the choice of a local leader is the only one that takes the time and implements terrorist attacks without reference to the command key. We refer to the issue of al-Qaeda in the process of what might be called re-straightening the path; there is a current movement, which is an elite power movement with leadership from Egypt and Afghanistan, who are keen to direct the path and form a unity in the international system and strike again, especially in the U.S., so it would be difficult to talk about stopping the organization's activity, but revision that takes into mind the situation of multiple places as targets on the one hand, and unifying various targets on the other hand, in what might be called the new rule of unity and tasks.

May God punish them! I used to love them, because they fight the enemies of Islam and Muslims. But if they kill Muslims, they should go to Hell. The person who joins al-Qaeda has one of two solutions: either God guides him and he comes back to his senses, or, if he does not wake up, then he should be crushed in the al Qaeda dunghill. The people like him should wake up now, because Islam’s purpose is not to kill innocent souls, especially Muslim ones. A million times and as many times as the number of innocent Muslims they have killed, I pray that God will shove them into the blaze of Hellfire.

The influence of al-Qaeda in some Arab states that witnessed revolutions declined for many reasons, including the change in the mentality, which tends toward democracy and rejection of intellectual fanaticism and because of the suffering of these peoples for long years from suppression, deprivation and dictatorship as well as the unjust laws. All these causes made the influence of al-Qaeda and its fanatic thoughts more influential on the Arab peoples, which witnessed the birth of democracy after depriving them of these elections for years. However, this does not apply to all the Arab peoples that witnessed the appearance of some modern democratic trends. The influence of al-Qaeda was still prominent on some peoples, especially the peoples that are known for their poor cultural, financial, and social conditions. However, all the indicators refer to the decline of the influence of al-Qaeda even on the peoples who may be under its control. Once these peoples achieve financial, social, and cultural stability, we will see that the influence of al-Qaeda will become very weak and almost non-existent. Nevertheless, this does not deny that in some states that witnessed revolutions, there are currents and parties that are affiliated to al-Qaeda and that adopt the same extremist ideas and thought who control the political scene there, but this does not deny the fact that the control of al-Qaeda over the Arab street became weaker in the light of the emergence of democratic currents that reject the religious extremism and sectarian entrenching.

This is entirely contradictory to the principle of compassion and mercy in Islam, and it goes against the belief of the Muslims that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, has come with the message of Islam as a mercy for the universe, and as a guide for mankind, and not as a punishment for them or as a means to traffic in their lives. All of this is evidence of their barbarity, and it is not strange that they would be called to dialogue and discussion only to be met with their refusal times and times again. Perhaps the most important weapon with which we could confront them is raising the awareness of the youths and educating them in the principles of the pure Islamic religion without extremism or exaggeration, and creating job opportunities for them so that they would not feel idle and so that they would reject sectarianism and communalism, and urging them to obey the law and the authorities within the bounds of the laws of Islam.

The terrorist organization of Al-Qaeda is still engaging in misleading people and selling them delusions, and it is still carrying out crimes and killing believing Muslims, and all of this is being done in the name of Allah. The terrorist culture of Al-Qaeda has evolved to include highway robbery and taking innocent people hostage in order to exchange them for money for their release. It has turned from an organization that engages in killing and violating Allah’s sanctities and shedding innocent blood in the name of Allah to a mafia organization that kidnaps innocent people and traffics in their lives demanding ransoms in exchange for releasing them.

There are many causes that make all the Muslims hate all the terrorists of al-Qaeda, and all the destruction in the Arab world is caused by al-Qaeda, because it has a hand in all that is happening. It will have a significant impact on ending the procession of al- Qaeda, as happened after the killing of many leaders who were the basis of sabotage in the country, and one of the most important figure among them is Osama bin Laden, al-Qaeda’s leader who was killed by the U.S. security forces to rid the world of his evils, in the words of the American officials. This theory has proven its truth as we see now that al-Qaeda suffers from a lot of defects in its performance, and even if it shows that it is coherent to some extent, in fact they live in periods that make them suffer from internal lacerations of these organizations. The relevant agencies in the United States have succeeded in dealing a blow to al-Qaeda; the process was separating the head from the body of the snake and thus, the operations carried out by these authorities became ineffective even if they caused a lot of victims, and with the passage of time those organizations will split apart more and more until all of their states evaporate. All the relevant agencies in all countries must be addressing those movements of sabotage in order to ensure the elimination of the rest of its faction and spare the rest of the body parts because those movements are no longer fit to be formed again. This what all the members of al- Qaeda know, so they are trying to delay the expected end by carrying out sabotage operations to obstruct the performance of the security organizations at the global level, but they approach their end more and more, and we trust that Allah, the Almighty, will be with us and will not make those movements continue as they are doing because they are our enemies and the enemies of all the human beings in the different nationalities and religions, and they do not have any partners in this community that can support them.

Al-Qaeda’s activities still target civilians and security personnel. The members of this movement still kill, rob and torture many people. One can observe that the death of Osama Bin Laden did not adversely affect the way these groups work. This can be evidenced by the fact that the same operations that used to occur before his death are being carried out as if the group is still run by bin Laden himself. We are still unsure about what is going in inside al-Qaeda and whether there is an opposition within the group or not. However, I believe that a powerful man like him (al-Zawahiri) is capable of wielding control over his opponents and can achieve the goal he is pursuing. He will be able to control al-Qaeda by all means, even if he is compelled to kill his rivals, in order to teach the rest of the members of those movements a lesson and force them to unite under his leadership out of fear of a similar fate.

The Muslims are not convinced by these destructive thoughts; hence, they rejected all the bad ideas of this organization. Hence, al-Qaeda targeted all the innocent people through following the different killing methods, terrorizing, and murder of the children as well as interfering in the life of the people. All these practices made the people hate this criminal organization, which creates havoc on earth and practices mass murder randomly everywhere without saving any child, woman or elder. The developments in Somalia, and especially in Mogadishu, including acts of murder, sabotage and displacement of the innocent people are crimes and they take place on a daily basis at the hands of the criminal terrorist group, which call itself Al-Shabaab. This movement adopts the same ideology and thoughts as al-Qaeda and it declared that it is affiliated to it and receives instructions from its deviant leadership. Despite the mean criminal acts against the innocents that were carried out by al-Shabaab under the name of the religion and under the pretext that the people are apostates from the religion, the results were not as wished by this terrorist movement. Many Somalis hated this movement because of its inhumane behavior and their adoption of violence and the excessive force in dealing with innocent and peaceful people. Al-Shabaab harmed its people instead of helping the Somalis who suffer from the hunger and diseases because of the drought and the resulting famine and death due to the malnutrition and lack of food that came through the humanitarian aid that were sent by some states and humanitarian organizations that seek to save the Somali people.

Al-Qaeda is a criminal organization that seeks to destroy the peaceful societies, especially the Muslim societies, because they first spread their ideas in the areas and the countries with an Islamic nature through taking Islam as a cover. Through this maneuver, they tried to affect the people of the Muslim societies and deceive them through claiming that they came to liberate them and help them get rid of the difficult circumstances that were imposed on the Muslim nation. Al-Qaeda tried to stress that it came to defend Islam and Muslims, while it was actually preparing for a large political project through which it sought to control the riches of these countries and use their financial and human capabilities to achieve the purposes that were set formerly by the leadership of al-Qaeda. Hence, it succeeded in infiltrating a large number of Islamic states under the pretext of defending the religion. However, they soon showed their true ugly face and the evil intentions of this organization, which defamed Islam and tarnished its bright image as a humane religion that calls for respecting the brotherhood between the Muslims and the non-Muslims and protects the rights of all people without differentiating between them, because it respects humanity as a whole. On the other hand, al-Qaeda imposes its opinions that contradict Islam by force and only sees that its opinion must prevail and whoever disagrees with them will be killed.

Advising the members of al-Qaeda aims at transforming them from people who adopt criminal thought, and this requires more precision in the methodology that is used in convincing those people who stick to their thoughts fanatically, because they may turn against those who try to convince them, especially given that they fight the whole society to spread their thoughts to the world. These movements must be studied first before entering into any discussions with them, because this may represent a threat to the convictions of those who advise or mentor them. The thoughts of these movements were planted inside their brains, which mean that it is very difficult to deal with them without knowing how these thoughts entered their minds. They are like children who were frightened with something repeatedly and then were pacified suddenly. In this way, the child will not accept this idea which is deep-rooted in their brains. This means that it is very difficult to get this idea out of his mind, and the correct approach is to teach him step by step until we remove such ideas from his mind. We may sit for years until we achieve this purpose, and those who sit with such movements must have the wisdom and the religious culture that enables him to convince those who stood in the face of these groups. We all need to hold steadfast to our principles and beliefs that we adopted throughout our life.

The al-Qaeda terrorist group is one of the organizations that depend on its methodology giving attention to the intellectual and cultural aspects, which it worked to promote in order to influence the largest number of those who learn about this thought through the promoters of its terrorist elements working under the umbrella of this organization. And therefore, the thought is the first weapon to organize al-Qaeda, which is trying to recruit the largest possible number of people who are deluded by such ideas, thus, turning them into criminals in their communities. Such a culture of terrorism cannot be confronted with arms only, but the culture of terrorism through which this dirty organization works must be met with the moderate cultural current that works to educate communities, especially the Arab and Islamic countries that suffer from acute shortage in this aspect. This lays the foundations for the Al-Qaeda terrorists to take advantage of this weakness and begin to exploit many of those who suffer from a lack of cultural background. Culture is an important element through which we can win against terrorist ideology. This can be through attention to the cultural sector, anti-terrorism and its dark ideas in addition to the possibility of cultural interest in programs through television and publications that work to refute anything that would disturb the elite security and stability in the Arab and Islamic countries.

Al-Qaeda is nothing but a destructive movement that uses suicide bombings. Al-Qaeda abhors people and denies them their rights. Hence, how can people condone such a group which despises them and brands them pagans and infidels? The members of these movements should be burnt up instead of being killed since we don’t even want to see their rotten bodies and don’t want to give them the honor of dying through proper killing. We want their demise to be like dead animals which are left until they are inflated and then served to dogs and wolves. I believe even dogs will have a hard time devouring the bodies of traitors who bartered their countries, nations and people for money. They turn a blind eye to the fact that human beings are more precious than all the wealth on this world. On the other hand, the lives of terrorists have no importance as they are the scum of the earth. Why are they terrorizing the people over there? Is Pakistan al-Qaeda’s real enemy? Are their foes not the US? Obviously, the names of the two nations are spelled differently. Al-Qaeda should be extra careful, as God’s punishment is severe and He gives respite, but never neglects. May God have his mercy on our dead and the dead Muslims everywhere, Amen.

Al-Qaeda is a terrorist organization which has spread terrorism and criminality across the world and caused the death of many individuals. Al-Qaeda members claim that they are Muslims and their lives are joyful as they are consumed all the time with deeds that please the lord, but that is not the case. Al-Qaeda is hostile to all the security forces and even to all people. They are even hostile to themselves and if that was not true, they wouldn’t be committing these extremely heinous crimes. They don’t like anyone and all of their actions are nothing but harmful and destructive to this world. Hence, how can we advise destroyers? Aren’t their actions too grave to be remedied by mere advice? Or are they mentally challenged individuals? Even if the latter were true, they wouldn’t be doing what they are doing. Al-Qaeda and its members don’t deserve to be alive; they even don’t deserve death with dignity. Instead, they deserve to be subjected to torture together with their children, who were fed all sorts of prohibitions and will follow the same path. I don’t have an ounce of sympathy for their children and women, let alone them. On the contrary, I wish they would be bombarded with rockets and missiles.

The cases of discord and disharmony in the ranks of al-Qaeda that have appeared among them were a natural result of the acts of injustice and abuse that were practiced by the leaders and the members of this criminal organization against the safe communities and members everywhere, because Allah the Almighty does not allow the work of mischief, as injustice is darkness. He destroys the oppressors themselves and creates difficulties among them in order to tear apart their gathering and dissipate their unity through what takes place among them, including enmity and hatred because of the injustice, tyranny, bloodshed of the innocent people, looting their money, and attacking their honor. Today, they drink from the same cup through which they used to water the people. The discord among them took place and has developed into fighting as well as the occurrence of fierce battles among these criminal groups that have committed shameful acts, as they had been the reason behind the destruction and the destabilization of the security of the stable countries that have suffered from their criminal acts, wherein they did not have mercy on anyone. They were killing people as they wished and according to their desire, and vibrating their dead consciences that do not move because they have no conscience, morality or religion. Therefore, they have had a negative impact on the secured communities that they come from outside their borders, where they spilled the blood of the innocent people unjustly. However, with injustice and aggression against the safe people, they made Allah the Almighty as well as all of His creatures angry as a result of their atrocities, which are a stigma, a shame and a disgrace in the face of this perverted organization until the wrath of Allah the Almighty came to them as a result of their hands being stained with the blood of the innocent people, then discord and disagreement among them took place, which led to the occurrence of armed confrontations with each other.

Terrorist groups have done a lot of things in the Arab region and the whole world. The attacks done by these groups generate nothing but destruction for many countries. Some argue that the impact of the attacks have political dimensions; some see it as a way to reach their goal while others see it from another perspective, which is a natural reaction to deteriorating global economic situations, and also as a result of the weakness of governments. Who knows terrorism sees it as an old and new global phenomenon, not religion or homeland. Its forms and methods vary according to time and place, but it is always associated with man and his creed, religion or doctrine of intellect. It is a mistake to attribute it to one religion without the other or to one human race or sex without the other or one country without the other. In our present time, there are new forms of terrorism, methods, causes and sources. It is proper to say that their crime has become the crime of the century and its problem, or even a source of crime, sin and destruction, through the spreading of unprecedented terror and fear among safe people and killing innocent and unsuspecting people without discrimination between a child, woman, old man or young man, Muslim or not; everyone is seen as an enemy. Accordingly, these attacks are only means of destruction and vandalism. The ugliest scene you can see is the scene of civilian, innocent people killed and the destruction of buildings, public and private properties without consideration or regard to what will cause the loss of society.

The terrorist al-Qaeda was exploiting the Arab peoples in the worst way and was exploiting them as a matter of oppression and injustice that was suffered by the Arab peoples as a result of the totalitarian regimes that had previously been governing our Arab countries. Therefore, some who have suffered from injustice among those repressive regimes found a breathing space for themselves working in such terrorist and contemptible regulation. Today, after a lot of countries in the Arab world have obtained freedom and are tending to the practice of the democratic life, I believe that the influence of this dirty organization seems to be reduced, especially after revealing all of its plans and its crimes. It was proven to everyone the invalidity of its counterfeit slogans and that contributed to the abuse of our Arab countries and damaged them a lot.

The causes of the collapse of the Al-Shabaab movement in Somalia is the presence of the security forces and the comprehensive confrontation from all parties, which decided to put an end to the atrocities and the bloodshed that targets the innocents at the hands of this movement, particularly those who have nothing to do with what is going on. This confrontation must continue until we get rid of Al-Shabaab completely in Somalia and drive them to total collapse so that the Somali citizen feels secure, safer and comfortable when security and stability reign in his country. This has always been the dream of the Somali citizen, who was living under violence, criminality, brutality, torture, murder, kidnapping, slaughter, and many other terrorist acts that took place and are still taking place against the Somalis. All the Somalis people and the Somali security forces must work hand in hand to fight the terrorists and eliminate all those who carry arms or provide the terrorists or gangsters with arms to use them in harming the people of Somalia.

The crimes and acts of the Supporters of Sharia movement in Yemen against the Yemeni people and army are horrible and they contribute to creating a state of chaos, violence, criminality and brutality, particularly given that these are some groups that are affiliated to the al-Qaeda terrorist organization, which tries hard to control Yemen in every possible way to have a presence on the lands of Yemen, which has witnessed many tragic events, suffering, pain, torture, suppression, injustice, deprivation, neglect, poverty, hunger, and backwardness. However, the elements of al-Qaeda were not satisfied with all of this and started committing horrible crimes against the innocent people. They do not wish good to the Yemeni people who faced the difficulties, the challenges, and the dictatorships. Their freedom was confiscated for long years. Hence, it is extremely necessary to eliminate all the terrorist elements that try to destroy the freedom of the poor, weak, and helpless Yemeni people. The criminal acts of Supporters of Sharia against the soldiers of the Yemeni army and seizing their weapons are extremely horrible, criminal, and violent. They try to create havoc with the security, stability, and safety of the country, while they should have constructed it instead of destroying their home and spreading death and destruction everywhere. It is really sorrowful to see elements of a movement like Supporters of Sharia seeking to continue the procession of al-Qaeda through committing the same horrible and brutal crimes against the innocent people without any guilt. Yemen needs all the efforts of construction to contribute to its development of this country rather than tampering with its future and the security of its people. They must stop because they lengthen the already long suffering of the Yemeni people.

I demand the Iraqi government deters the terrorists and Al-Qaeda terrorist organization in a better way, because they shed the blood in many occasions in Iraq. Their crimes, suicide bombings and attacks on the innocents branded many days as bloody and they are still committing their crimes despite all the promises about elimination of terrorism and improving the security situation as well as despite providing the security forces and the Ministries of Defense and Interior with all capabilities to maintain the security situation in the country. It is illogical that all the large number of the security forces in the streets and the huge budgets that are earmarked for this purpose cannot prevent the terrorists from roaming all over the country with their car bombs to target the public places in this way.

Unfortunately, this movement committed many crimes against the people of Somalia and the Muslim Somalis. The citizens of Somalia suffer terribly and the situation in Somalia is tragic because of the presence of this terrorist moment there. Hence, many of them escaped to the neighboring states to Somalia such as Ethiopia, Guinean to save their lives. Indeed, Al-Shabaab this is terrorist movement and it has no relationship with the moderate youth. Rather, it is an extremist group that practices all forms of murder and crimes of assassinations and bombings across Somalia, particularly the regions that are under its full control in the absence of the government and the inability of the concerned authorities to control the situation there completely. All the victims are innocents but they were assaulted and murdered by the elements of this terrorist organization, which has links with Al-Qaeda. I reject all the crimes of this terrorist movement and I call on the Muslims and the international community to help the Somali people and government and to stand beside them through sending peacekeeping forces to protect the souls of the innocents or through chasing the elements of this movement to crush them.

The Somali Youth Movement is an Islamic movement, but in fact it has nothing to do with Islam, as it is like the other terrorist movements that cause chaos in Somalia, a reason for thousands of victims who fall in the fighting there. Somalia’s Youth Movement finances itself from the operations of thefts that occur from piracy on ships; they are trained in piracy skillfully and easily as the sea is vast and the security control there is not strong. How many times have we heard about the kidnapping of a ship and demanding a ransom of millions of dollars, as the source of funding is very good. Even arms are smuggled for them from Libya and the other countries of Africa and there are unconfirmed reports that the founder and funder of the movements was the late President Muammar Gaddafi. He established that movement to be his assistant in an emergency or engaged in terrorist operations which were held in several countries who have joined a short time ago with al-Qaeda to be strong and more dangerous in Somalia. It is known about Somalia that it is a poor country with very poor experience in security. Even the system of training and arming is in a very primitive state. African countries neighboring Somalia must help it financially and militarily to counter those movements so that the Somali citizen would not have to spell more blood. As for piracy

The terrorist movements have carried out an assassination campaign targeting military officials in Somalia. We have talked about the destructive activities taking place in Somalia, and we see that they are the cause of the famines that are affecting Somalia, as they steal the humanitarian aids that are loaded with food and medical aids, without having any mercy for children, women or old people who are dying everyday as a result of the famine that they are suffering from. How is it that they are implementing the Islamic Shariah when they engage in robbing aids that could help save the lives of these people who are dying of hunger? How could they allow themselves to do that? Does Islam approve of this in their view? Of course, they do not know anything about Islam. They are engaged in genocidal operations under the pretense of implementing the Islamic penal code on those that do not want to live under their authority. Who put them in power over the citizens in order to apply the penal code on them? May Allah curse them wherever they are!

The situation with the Shabab movement in Somalia is the same as with the other terrorist movements, as it operates in the same manner, killing civilians and spreading corruption and wickedness in Somalia, and undermining the security and stability of citizens, and they even engage in the killing of innocent people with bombing attacks, meaning that they are top-class terrorists before anything else. They consider themselves to be Islamic preachers that are enjoining good and forbidding evil, when they are the ones committing evil and killing innocent people without any justification, desecrating people’s blood and stealing their money. Al-Qaeda terrorist organization started to move towards their inevitable end as the organization is suffering from many internal problems, which increased the difficulty of the existence and continuation of their work in one direction. In the past, the Al-Qaeda organization suffered from military and security operations, which were launched against the remnants in most of the world countries. They suffered from a lot of losses; they began to fall apart in Iraq, Yemen and even in Afghanistan. Their situation has deteriorated after the loss of many of their main leaders who were leading and planning the establishment of this organization. After the murder of many of their leaders and after getting rid of terrorists and their sources of funding, many disputes and divisions appeared among the leaders of this organization, and I mean the new leaders who lack the experience; each of them believes in ideas and opinions different from the other. Therefore, the multiplicity of ideas and theories in this organization resulted in a lot of disputes and divisions between their elements and cells, which spread here and there, leading to a state of disharmony which affected the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization as well as their acts. These disputes, disharmony and the difference in opinion will lead to a state of fanaticism between the members of this organization and their cells which, in turn, will lead to more problems that will weaken the work of Al-Qaeda and lead to strife among their elements and this is what we wish for.

Unfortunately, what helped these people to get a foothold in Yemen and in other Arab countries are some regimes that are far from applying Sharia, and people that are considered to be following these regimes for committing Islamic violations, which provokes Muslims in general. Consequently, some have accepted to have those who play this role, because they have a shortage of it. The proof of what I'm saying is that such groups have gained acceptance and approval on many levels in Eden; they are the least knowledgeable of the rules of Islam, the least religious, and the least educated about the issues of applying Sharia in practical life.

It is an unfortunate fact that al-Qaeda members have advanced training capabilities, and they know the movements of the members of the security forces, and it is not improbable that some of the security forces are collaborating with al-Qaeda because of money or other interests that they want to achieve. The security apparatus should be restructured and their members selected based on competence, and the strategies used to combat these terrorist movements should be improved, and there should be oversight by the Interior Ministry for the sake of this country. All security officers that do their best for the sake of this country should be rewarded, and those that are negligent in the discharge of their duty should be punished and reprimanded. Peace and security are the two most important requisites for the citizens, as they ensure the stability of the country, and all the other requisites come after them. If there is security, the Somali economy will improve, and consequently, poverty and famines will be eliminated, because this will encourage more projects to be set up and it will boost productivity, and will provide incentives for international companies to launch projects and thus set productivity in motion. This will then solve the issue of unemployment for the youths, and the other services for the citizens will be improved. The security officer should bear in mind the value and importance of his job, and he should know that the peace and security of the citizens are responsibilities that rest on his shoulders. The citizens should also show respect and appreciation for the security officer, and they should be aware of the sacrifices that they make for their sake, as they stay awake so that the citizens can rest, and they protect their wealth and dignity from potential criminals. So, my salutations and appreciation to all the police officers who are carrying out their duty, and I hope that security will be restored to the people of Somalia, and that they will be relieved of poverty and hunger, and that Allah will protect Somalia and its people from all evils. Amen.

The crimes of al-Qaeda have diversified and its operations expanded over a very wide area, and what helped its expansion is the adherence to a unified doctrine but after that distances increased between them. Their situation is like any working group that differs in their points of view, making the differences cause a rift in the communication between them, or in other words, the existence of targets for each faction that are different from the goals of others, after their flag was united in jihad for the sake of Allah against injustice and wrong, their targets have become superior, getting the money which increased their differences, and their orders no longer came from the main leaders of al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, but they took them from their leader, who controlled the entire region, according to the country in which they are deployed, which made them weaker. Their terrorism against the people has been larger; their operations were no longer to Jihad for the sake of God, nothing like how they called themselves Mujahedeen and were killing the believers in one God. Islam did not ever command us to kill Muslims, and Muslim here means peaceful person. Whoever finds that the rule of Shariia is unfair to him, Allah the Almighty says, “When they are summoned to Allah and His messenger, in order that He may judge between them, behold some of them decline. But if the right is on their side, they come to Him with all submission. Is it that there is a disease in their hearts or do they doubt, or are they in fear that Allah and His Messenger will deal unjustly with them? Nay, it is they themselves who do wrong.” Deal unjustly means oppress and derail justice. Therefore, whoever does not want to submit to the law of Allah the Almighty, including what the Holy Quran contains and through the virtuous Sunnah of the prophet, let him repudiate the religion of Islam and then go and elect. He is free, but he should not distort Islam nor should he falsify and claim it, and then go to the election, if it would be said. Whoever diverts and changes the religion of Islam must be killed in Islam as he is an apostate. We say to him that he should not only be killed through a court judgment issued by the responsible of the judiciary of Muslims in the State of Islam but also, he should not be killed only if he is affiliated under the legitimate Islamic State after choosing and alleging their governor, its system and institutions, and engaged in it as a Muslim and then reverses the pledge and allegiance, and then violate the Covenant and allegiance as well as showing apostasy and not returning after asking for repentance in the State of Islam and not leaving it.

The Islamic world has been aware recently even if it is late and after the involvement of many people, and frankly because of lack of awareness and exploitation of al-Qaeda terrorists to this point, today the situation has really changed and there is awareness in all Muslims that al-Qaeda used the Islamic religion as a cover for its crimes for in order to earn the sympathy of Muslims, as the leaders of this criminal organization expected or imagined, but the results were disappointing. Today, the people who take exception to al-Qaeda and dislike it and wish God would destroy this organization and make it fall apart are Muslims, because they have sacrificed the most and were subjected to injustice because of this infidel organization. Today al-Qaeda has been abandoned dramatically in the Muslim world and this is what really caused the defeat and major collapse of its popularity that it dreamed of going forth in the Muslim world after their claim of Jihad for the sake of Islam and that they are working for Islam, but their crimes ousted and no Muslim accepts of course for the image of the Islamic religion to be tarnished in this way by those foolish dirty criminals who want to be representatives of the best nation brought to the people and of the best holy book sent down by God. They have no place in the Islamic nation and Muslims will never forgive them, because the killing of Muslims, civilians and innocent people in Muslim countries, intentionally and willfully, made Muslims resentful of this organization and all organizations that claim to be Islamic organizations and are false in content as they deal with al-Qaeda and thoughts of excommunication, intolerance, and their attempts to create sectarian strife among Muslims.

[Omar Farouk/ Reuters] It has been a year since the murder of al-Qaeda's leader Osama Bin Laden in his hideout in Abbottabad, Pakistan. Even though the organization under the leadership of Ayman al-Zawahiri on the Afghani-Pakistani borders does not seem to be in the best shape, especially with the blockade against it and the hemorrhage (constant assassinations) of the organization's leaders, especially in the latter years of Bin Laden's life, yet this does not mean that al-Qaeda is totally destroyed. As it seems, the organization is still capable of seeking the help of its allies that turned into branches of al-Qaeda all over the world. One of those branches is in East Africa, represented in the al-Shabab Movement. Even though the joining of al-Shabab to al-Qaeda was shown as an "Achievement" for the new leader of the organization, al-Zawahiri, yet the fact of what the armed Somali Movement is doing reflects that it follows the same footsteps of other branches of al-Qaeda and other armed groups. Finally, they all ended due to their extremism and radical interpretation of the Islamic teachings which repelled people and drove them away to join their opponents. The Al-Shabab Movement is swimming against the current. The acts of killing and bombings they execute currently in Somalia prove that this group insists on going against the current. Instead of doing operations to gain public support for them, they actually do quite the opposite. This is quite clear in the last bombings they executed in April 4th in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.

This despicable person was brought up in dark caves and fed on crime and murder, has an instinct that is worse than animals in hatred, murder and assault on others, bringing bin Laden to the undisputed bottom in terms of morality and criminality. When the Prophet Mohammed was present, peace be upon him, there had been a lot of commands directed from him to the Muslims and especially the army. There is a set of orders from him including: Do not cut down trees, do not kill a woman, do not kill an elderly person, do not kill a child, do not kill an injured person, do not throw a person fleeing the battlefield, and do not steal their belongings. There were lots and lots of orders issued by the Prophet Mohammad during the first battle. The prisoners were brought. They were giving the Messenger water and he said, “Have you given the prisoners water?” They said no. He took a bowl of water, gave it to them, then turned to Muslim soldiers, and said, “Give them water before you drink.” This was the ethics of the Prophet Mohammed and these are the Islamic religion ethics.

There is no humanity in dealings and no mercy. We have witnessed the terrible acts of al-Qaeda through the human massacres carried out by the blowing up of car bombs and explosive devices within the crowd of citizens to inflict damage and to kill the largest possible number of citizens. The shameful issue is that these idols consider these operations and their success conciliation from Allah. As a matter of fact, Allah, the angels, the human beings, and the prophets were dissatisfied with the daily killings and bombings.

This movement and its criminal leaders do not differentiate between any person or another. They are all objectives that must be liquidated as a result of their sick ideas in their fanatic minds. The movement of the Taliban received lots of support through Iran and the criminal system that governed it by providing the funds, weapons, land, and shelter if they have been forced to flee Afghanistan. The Iranian regime takes the role of the main partner and real guide of this movement, and demands it to do everything they can including terrorist and criminal acts against the people of Afghanistan as well as the Pakistani, and especially what we see from bombings and targeting of this people who decided to respond to all the terrorists and their expulsion from their lands.

I think that history will always mention the tribes of Yemen because without these authentic tribes, Yemen would have been living today in panic and insecurity. Who among us expected that the Yemeni tribes would have this big role? Even the elements of al-Qaeda and its leaders were really surprised at this heroic popular position that had been thrust upon all the sons of Yemen, especially its tribes since they were determined to fight against al-Qaeda quickly and not give them the chance to control it and the fate of the country. If the Yemeni tribes did not address al-Qaeda, did not move or if they were silent or indifferent, Yemen would become worse than Iraq many times. Thankfully, it was due to everyone how the Yemeni people and the tribes who were accused of lack of their awareness had proven to everyone that they are more aware than any other people and know the value of the country as well as the risks waiting for it because of this organization. Everyone went strongly to fight this thought and this presence and the cells of this grassroots terrorist organization. I think it is a really honorable position because Islam called us to strive for our land and fight whoever assaulted it and wanted to do something bad to it, as well as the plans of al-Qaeda and what it wants to achieve were known and exposed for all.

If you ever feel that you are worn-out because of the passage of years or that your smile is disappearing behind the wrinkles of days or that life is unbearable… If you ever feel that life is a prison for your breathes, and that the hours do not mean except more pains and everything is becoming painful… Turn your oppression into a smile and tears into joy.

The terrorist operations that are carried out by the terrorists threaten the future of the country and the innocent citizens. Hence, we ask God to take revenge upon them and to punish them for their crimes and bombings that threaten the citizens and terrorize them. I curse the al-Qaeda terrorist organization and its criminal thoughts, which it tries to promote and spread in our society through enticing the minority of the people who are stupid and can be easily affected by terrorism. This hybrid organization attracts their fossilized minds to believe in it and its deviant thoughts. May God curse this organization, which was formed to kill the innocents and the poor. May God curse all those who cause harm to the people and we ask God the Almighty to disgrace this parasitic terrorist organization and its criminal elements who abandoned their conscience and honor, because they adopt criminality and murder as a method to achieve their purposes. They caused a bloodbath in our country and worldwide. Damn the terrorists and the organization of evil and aggression, which is called al-Qaeda. Damn all those who adopt this devilish methodology of the followers of the evils organization of al-Qaeda, which targets the civilians in its criminal operations that should be condemned and rejected. We ask God to curse all those who are involved in terrorism directly or indirectly, because those idiots and their organization must be cursed and condemned for their crimes that harm our Iraq and us severely. At the same time, I congratulate the Federal Iraqi Police, which taught terrorism and the al-Qaeda terrorist and takfiri organization harsh lessons, defeated terrorism, and foiled all of its cowardly plans that sought to affect Iraq and our great people, who showed patience to those butchers and followers of terrorism. Congratulations to the Iraqi police and its heroes who achieved many victories over terrorism and its criminal supporters and murders.

God willing, O Lord of the universe, Yemen will get rid of the great concern they are living in. I think there has to be a great role by the Arabs in order to solve that problem and not remain under the terrorists’ pressure, and I hope that worse than before issues would not happen and that Yemen would be one of the most stable Arab States because what happened to them, the poor, has not happened to anyone before and their stupid governor, Ali Abdullah Saleh has brought them to that point. He has made the people hungry and did not give them any rights at all, and it is him who made the entry of the terrorists into Yemen easy. For all those things and for not giving the terrorists more opportunity, we have do everything we can to solve that intractable issue. I hope that God, the Highest and the Greatest will save us from terrorists who are in any Arab or Muslim country or in any European country because they will bring us worry and oppression and will distort the reputation of our religion and we did not and will not accept this at all.

By Allah, everything that this movement is doing is recklessness and terrorism. Filthy acts, criminality and murders are committed daily against the innocent Somali citizens. It is a movement that does not want goodness for Somalia but wants the situation to continue as it is there, including famine, poverty and a very miserable life. All of their acts are forbidden; they are killing and abusing the people and working in piracy and the theft of vessels and cargo coming to help the poor Somali people, and may Allah curse them. They make things permissible and prohibit other things as they like in accordance with their extremist way of thinking; they execute the prescribed penalties on people without justification and without permission and authorization. All of these things are done by the movement that belongs to the terrorist al-Qaeda that, according to my personal opinion, receives full support from it. Every day we see many crimes committed in Somalia including massacres and bombings, killings and assassinations and other issues, and everyone doing these acts is an element of this terrorist movement which claims Jihad for the sake of Allah, but whatever Jihad and retarded thoughts they are carrying in their minds, they know are not right and definitely do not represent Islam. They are exploiting the situation being experienced by Somalia and the Somali government's weakness and the inability of the Somali people to face up to them or confront them because anyone addressing or objecting to them, his fate will be direct killing. These are tyrants whom Allah neither did nor will have mercy on for their crimes against this impoverished, helpless people.

Unfortunately, at the time when al-Qaeda, this terrorist organization, the first in the world, has been clamped down on and the transfer of its aid and funding by some external parties and even internal ones was prevented, I was expecting that it would collapse completely. It is true that the organization is no longer as strong as it was in the past and does not have the force to carry out continued terrorist attacks, and this is due to the lack of materials and money to attract young people and deceive them into joining their terrorist activities, and also for the purchase of cars, materials used in bombing, and the places that are rented or bought in order to store them. Hence, all of this was affected because of the lack of money and material support that al-Qaeda used to get from everywhere and in large amounts, and we were seeing many operations occurring in Iraq back then. But the lack of finances did not lead to the complete end of al-Qaeda because this terrorist organization has a lot of plans and alternatives, which unfortunately have been paved before it and gave it the opportunity to get money from here and there, especially after they move to attack the owners of shops, goldsmiths, and the owners of gold shops, attacking them and stealing their money and gold from more than one place, and also relying on the kidnapping such as the kidnapping of traders or one of their children and demanding large amounts of money for their release, and this organization was thus able to continue raising money and in order to save money, which it is in dire need of in order to carry out its operations.
