Lebanese actress Nadine Rassi won the "Celebrity Duet" title on the programme's closing night.

The programme, a musical competition which features contestants singing with well-known stars to benefit charity, is in its first season on LBC.

She won the grand prize of $50,000, which she'll present to the Lebanese Red Cross after deducting a certain amount to purchase a hearing aid for a two year-old girl.

During the nine-week programme, Nadine sang along with a number of stars in the Arab world. On the final night, she performed "Gayi Ba'd Youmin" along with singer Samira Saeed, who originally sang the song.

After an exceptional performance, Nadine said she will not become a professional singer and that she was motivated to participate for charity.

Yehya Saade killed in tragic accident

The Lebanese and Arab artistic community was shocked to hear about the death of young Lebanese director Yehya Saade in a tragic incident during shooting of a video clip for artist Maya Diab in Izmir, Turkey.

Saade climbed on top of a parked train being used for the clip. The top of the train was surrounded by high-voltage wires. Although he was warned by the crew about standing there, reports said he paid little attention to the warnings. Not thinking of the consequences, he grabbed one of the wires and died instantaneously.

Yehya had finished shooting the video clip "Kont Bihali" for artist Nicole Saba that is scheduled to be released soon. This video clip will be his last completed work.

Saade worked with many artists, notably Najwa Karam in "Khalini Shofak Bil Layl", Nawal Al Zoghbi in "Albi Isalou Wa Mini Eineh", Miram Fares in "Makano Ween, Ih Yili Bihsal" and Haifa Wehbe in several songs, including "Mush Qadra".

Elissa says marriage is in her future

Elissa finally broke her silence to announce that she is thinking about marriage. In an interview with Al Binaa newspaper, Elissa said, "Yes, I am living a true love story in every sense of the word, and I'm getting ready for marriage after I've found the man of my dreams."

Elissa, who did not wish to specify the date and location for the event, finally addressed what has been written about her secret marriage in Paris. She did not identify the lucky man. It has been rumoured that she is in love with a Libyan businessman.

Ramy Ayach to release album in December

Pop star Ramy Ayach is preparing to release a new album "Gharamy Ayyash" in the last week of December. Ayach told Al-Shorfa that the album contains songs in the Egyptian and Lebanese dialects, in addition to the quasi Arabic standard dialect. He described the album as something new that will be a surprise when it is launched.

Responding to rumours that reported he angrily left the play "La Youmal", before the show ended, Ramy said, "I am not sure who spread this rumour as it is absolutely false. I have a strong friendship with the other actors." The play features actors Adel Karam and Abbas Chahine.

Ramy told Al-Shorfa about the "great pleasure" he felt while attending a Christmas party at the Rosary School - Kornet Al Hamra for children belonging to a number of charities. This was done in co-operation with his charity Ayash Children's Fund and the Rawad Association of Lebanon.

Dominique Hourani puts finishing touches on new album

Singer Dominique Hourani is putting the finishing touches on her new album and is considering an offer to portray actress Souad Hosni in a television series scheduled to air next Ramadan.

Hourani, who is preparing to travel to Thailand to shoot a television ad, denied recent rumours that she is divorcing her husband.

Shatha Hassoun gives present to orphans and poor children

Singer Shatha Hassoun spent the holidays with Iraqi orphans and poor children living in Lebanon at a ceremony organised by the French Raul Valero Association on December 23rd. Shatha put a smile on children's faces by handing out holiday gifts.
