Iran is getting closer to sealing a final deal with the international community over enrichment of its uranium, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki claimed during a security conference in Germany. "Under the present conditions that we have reached, I think that we are approaching a final agreement that can be accepted by all parties," Mottaki said. However, Mottaki said Iran should decide on the amounts of uranium to be exchanged.
This claim is being questioned by world powers supporting IAEA demands to monitor Iran's nuclear programme, BBC News reported Saturday (February 6th). German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle said during the security conference that "our hand is still reaching out to them [Iran.] But so far it's reaching out into nothingness." The EU Foreign Affairs chief, Catherine Ashton, said if Iran is ready to respond to IAEA demands, it should inform the IAEA, which it has not done.
