The Egyptian national football team is celebrating a priceless victory against Rwanda in Africa’s fourth round group C qualifier match for the 2010 World Cup finals held at the Amahoro Stadium.
Team captain Ahmed Hassan scored the winning goal for Egypt in the 68th minute of the match following a battle in the penalty box.
Egypt nearly doubled its lead in the 92nd minute, but substitute Mohammed Barakat’s shot passed just outside the goalposts.
With this result, Egypt has revived hopes of reaching the 2010 World Cup finals. The Pharaohs are now in second place with seven points and await the results of the Algeria-Zambia match, scheduled to be held in Algeria tomorrow.
Egypt holds the last two African Nations Cup championship titles (Egypt 2006 and Ghana 2008).

We hope, God willing, that the better team will win, whether it is Egypt, Algeria, or another team, because all that we care about as spectators is to enjoy watching football at the World Cup.
i hope go world cup
I swear that Essam Al-Hodari took the position he was in he erased his name from soccer
God willing Egypt is the one who will win over Algeria
Oh Egyptians, you will need another 20 years to catch up to Algeria. Algeria is too big for you. We were playing football when you Egyptians were raising goats. Algeria is too difficult for you. Go to the Gulf countries, so they can enslave you for a penny. I am Algerian. Look at Cairo. Who built it? You made all your defeats to Israel out to be victories. I swear to God that this is a weird thing.
God willing, Egypt will win and qualify for the World Cup.
Any Egyptian would feel happy about making it to the World Cup, but I think that the players and those in charge of our sporting affairs do not deserve the honour of qualifying for the finals.
Very excellent. I hope that this is always the case. Thank you.
